BOOKING WITH US
Accommodation:
We choose the accommodation that best reflects the type of tour that you are on. In some areas, accommodation is limited, and may vary from transportable type cabins, pub rooms, shearer’s quarters or motel rooms. If camping, we supply tents or swags when needed. Some accommodations may have ensuites, other may have shared facilities.
Alcohol: is not available at all of our accommodation venues - BYO is allowed (however limited by available space on our vehicles). We encourage you to drink responsibly.
Bookings: A 10% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Balance is to be paid 14 days prior to departure. Payment can be by cheque, cash, direct bank deposit or selected credit cards (incurrs a transaction fee).
Cancellations: Please make all bookings with care. All cancellations will incur a cancellation fee of a least 30% of the full tour fare for multi-day tours. If you cancel within 14 days of tour departure, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged. No show will be charged 100% of fee.
Company Risk Policy: Upon booking, passengers accept that tours may include activities that may involve certain risks and dangers beyond our control. This includes, but is not limited to, activities such as bush walking, swimming and travel in remote areas.
Your guide will make every effort to keep to the timetable and the itinerary. Overland Adventures reserves the right to change our times and itineraries, without refund, due to the abnormal extremes of weather, road closures, emergency incidents or other exceptional circumstances beyond our control, to ensure the safety of passengers. This includes, cultural, seasonal flooding, or bad weather conditions including excessive rain or heat. Where it is necessary for us to cancel a tour due to circumstances beyond our control (ie flood, road closures, mechanical breakdowns etc.) a 30% cancellation fee will be applied. Any expenses incurred because of a delay beyond our control shall not be our responsibility.
We accept no responsibility for loss, damage, or theft of or to any property, or repairs or recovery costs to participant’s vehicles. We retain the right to remove any person from the tour where the safety or comfort of other passengers is at risk.
Dispute Resolution: Should any dispute arise between Overland Adventures and a customer, it is agreed that no formal proceedings in a Court or Tribunal will commence until after the following process has been complied with:

The complaint or dispute has been received by us in writing ("the notice").

Upon receiving the written notice, parties will in good faith, attempt to resolve the dispute by negotiation or mediation or as otherwise agreed.

If unresolved, mediation will be conducted in accordance with Rules and Regulations of the NSW Law Society. If the parties cannot agree, the Mediator will be appointed by the President of the Law Society of NSW, or nominee.
Health: You should ensure you are in good health as we are often in isolated and remote areas. If you are unsure, check with your doctor. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure they are in a state of health that will allow them to participate in the tour. Please notify us of any medical condition of which we should be aware. If you are taking medication, ensure you carry sufficient supplies for the duration of the tour. We request that you provide us with contact details of another person in case of an emergency.
Minimum numbers apply on all tours: Tours of 1-2 day duration require a minimum of 4 adult passengers to confirm departure. Tours with duration of 3-4 days require a minimum of 4 adult passengers to confirm departure. Tours with duration of five or more days will require a minimum of 4 adult passengers. If minimum numbers are not met and it is necessary to cancel the tour, we will refund full payment.
Insurance: We highly recommend you obtain full travel insurance to cover cancellation by you or us, delay, loss, damage, injury due to an unforeseen circumstance, unexpected expenses and/or loss of income.
Luggage: For passengers, luggage is restricted to one medium size soft travel bag, weighing no more than 15kg, plus one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 3kg. Hard frame suitcases are not suitable and will only be carried at the driver's discretion. We would greatly appreciate if you could consider this when packing.
Things to Bring: Please bring your own bottle of drinking water to carry with you in your vehicle - there will be plenty of water to top up your bottles. The type of clothing will depend on the time of year. In summer expect very high temperatures. May to October we can expect warm days and cool nights, however in mid winter expect temperature to drop to around zero Celsius. Expect the unpredictable and be prepared. Comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and insect repellant are also recommended
Meals: Homemade meals are a highlight of most tours. Where other parties provide meals we request that they provide nutritious and wholesome meals, but the quality of meals is sometimes beyond our control. Generally, breakfasts are continental, cake for morning tea, sandwiches for lunch and a two-course dinner. If you have any special dietary needs you will need to discuss this with us well in advance of the tour date.
Mobile Phone Reception: is either not available of limited to Telstra Next G services in many of the areas that we travel.
Our Guarantee: We will meet the reasonable expectations of each customer to the best of our ability. Customer concerns and queries will be fairly and amicably dealt with as soon as practicable.
Prices: All prices quoted are for twin share unless indicated otherwise. Single Supplement prices are available on request. Children are classed as 5 -13 years, and in most cases are charged at half the adult fare. Our tours are not recommended for children under 5 years of age.
Operating Hours: Tours operate 7 days per week, with the exception of Christmas Day. Office hours are generally 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Tag-Along Tours: Please contact our office for further information on vehicle preparation and packing.
Tours DO include: Meals as indicated on itinerary; twin share accommodation. Additional information will be sent to clients after booking on extended tours.
Tours DO NOT include: Travel and accommodation prior to and on completion of tour; alcoholic drinks and other personal expenses.
Visitor Protocol: You must follow the lawful direction of our guides when travelling with us, and respect the wishes of Traditional Owners of certain areas we may visit when travelling on their land. Always ask permission before taking photographs in culturally sensitive areas. Permits are required for any commercial photography or filming in National Parks. Please do not remove any objects that belong on Aboriginal Land or National Parks eg. shells, seeds, plants, rocks etc.
